Three men from the Red Pheasant First Nation have been fined $5,880 for unlawfully hunting elk.

Saskatchewan Environment received a call in October of 2013 in the Biggar area.

When conservation officers investigated the call, they found the three men had unlawfully shot an elk on private, fenced land.

The men were located at the scene with the animal and were charged.

Lawrence Lee Meechance, Neal Meechance and Gerald Meechance of Red Pheasant were each found guilty of one count of unlawful hunting.
