A new study finds that Aboriginal kids have a better chance of finishing school when they are active.
The Statistics Canada report from 2012 found that weekly participation in sports for boys increased their chances of finishing high school by the age of 18.
For girls, it is participation in club activities that has an impact on timely high school completion.
The study also found that in their last year of school, 46 per cent of off-reserve First Nations youth aged 18 to 24 participated in sport activities on a weekly basis.
