About 100 members of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band have been removed from their homes because of smoke from a nearby fire.
The residents of from Clam Lake Bridge and Sikichew Lake were taken to Prince Albert until the air clears.
According to Saskatchewan Environment about 25 forest fires were started in the La Ronge area on Saturday due to lightning strikes.
Fire crews from the Ministry of Environment are currently on-scene and are assessing the situation and providing immediate fire support where needed.
As a result of the fires, the La Ronge Indian Band has declared a local emergency.
Chief Tammy Cook-Searson reported on Sunday morning that there is no immediate threat of the fire to the communities of Hall Lake, Sucker River and La Ronge.
Smoke is not a threat today for Hall Lake as the winds are coming in from the west/north west.
The Red Cross and Emergency Social Services are assisting the people who were taken to Prince Albert.
