Sunday Update: A general evacuation is in effect for Air Ronge and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band while a mandatory evacuation order remains in place for the Town of La Ronge.

Only essential personnel are allowed into the area north of the Montreal River Bridge.

The last bus left the JRMCC arena shortly before 1 a.m. this morning.

A total of 23 buses left for Cold Lake, Alberta with a total of 1078 people on the buses.

Officials do not have a count on the number of people that left the La Ronge area in private vehicles.

The community of Hall Lake was also evacuated on Saturday.

Four buses were sent in and some people left in private vehicles.

The evacuation includes Sikachu Lake and Clam Lake Bridge residents.

More windy conditions are forecast for the region today and fire crews from several communities in Saskatchewan are in La Ronge assisting with the fire fighting effort.

Sprinkler units are being set up in the north end of the Town of La Ronge.

Officials with both the provincial and federal governments have indicated that help will be available for the region as the need arises.
