For permanenet residents wanting to travel through La Ronge:
Northern residents are advised that escorted travel through Air Ronge and La Ronge to communities north of Sucker River is available during daylight hours only.
Travellers should gather at the south roadblock, about 10 km south of Air Ronge.
They will be escorted through the communities as far as Sucker River.
Southbound traffic will be escorted from Sucker River to the south roadblock.
You must be prepared to show government-issued ID that includes proof of permanent residence in one of the following communities: Stanley Mission, Missinipe, Grandmother’s Bay, Brabant Lake, Southend, or the Athabasca communities.
Visitors, or those who do not meet the criteria, will be turned back.
Please note there will be no access to La Ronge, Air Ronge or Sucker River except for fuel stops if necessary at local gas stations.
Because of constantly changing conditions, you should expect delays.
People with chronic health conditions, or those with children under two years of age, are advised that they should not yet return to communities affected by smoke, since poor air conditions could compromise health and full health services may not yet be available.
