Regina police have made an arrest after issuing a province-wide arrest warrant for a suspect in an assault with a blade and other weapons that sent a man to hospital on Sunday.
Police say the violence was not random, and that a 25-year-old man was sent to hospital with serious injuries.
The suspects fled by car before police arrived on scene.
Daniel Dennis James Larose, a 20-year-old aboriginal man, faced his charges of aggravated assault, break and enter, theft, and breach of probation in Regina court on Tuesday.
So far, investigators say the suspect came to the 25-year-old victim’s house for a confrontation, joined by others.
The fight included weapons, including a blade, and started in the victim’s yard before moving onto the street.
Aprevious Regina police news release states the suspect did not pose a threat to the public, because of the deliberate and directed nature of Sunday’s attack.
