On Monday night, a woman, 30, died when the minivan she was driving rolled over on the main grid of Red Pheasant First Nation.

A 30-year-old man had also been in the van when it rolled, before 8 p.m., according to witness reports to the Battlefords RCMP.

The woman died on scene, while the man left. Officers found him at a home on Red Pheasant, but have not provided any details on whether he was injured or not.

The woman was from Mosquito First Nation, and the man is from Red Pheasant, the RCMP said in a news release. Both communities border each other and are about 30 kilometres south of the Battlefords.

Investigation is ongoing, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist was called in.
