It was scary morning for early starters at a high school in North Battleford.
Just after 8:30 a.m. on Friday the Battlefords RCMP received a report of a suspicious person in an area near Carlton Comprehensive High School.
Shortly after, shots were fired.
Luckily, no one was hurt but there was property damage.
RCMP deployed their police dog after the suspect ran, but they weren’t able to find that person. The Battlefords RCMP do say the suspect is still at large and investigators are gathering evidence.
At the time, the school was placed in “hold and secure” mode as a precaution, with the help of the school’s RCMP school liaison officer.
After that, the suspect gave chase on foot—- even with the help of the police dog, the RCMP wasn’t able to make an arrest.
