Saskatoon police made a fatal discovery on Monday evening when they were called to the city’s west side.

Around 7 p.m. they found the deceased body of a 16-year-old boy in an area where a shooting took place, in the 300-block of Avenue Q South.

The victim’s family has been notified, but Saskatoon Police stated in a news release, they won’t share the boy’s name at the request of the faily.

Police say they are now investigating the scene of that shooting, however they are not releasing any details on whether they’ve made arrests or identified suspects.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
