Construction will get underway early in the New Year at a Saskatoon home for at-risk single mothers.
The EGADZ’s Sweet Dreams home will expand to include a 22-space daycare centre plus four additional bedrooms.
Executive Director Don Meikle says the EGADZ program has come a long way in its 25-year history.
“What we’re really prooud of is that we’ve grown based on need, it’s not just to get a program going but it’s an actual need” he adds “for us childcare for some of our moms has been extremely challenging and now we’re going to be able to provide for not just the young women at Sweet Dreams, but throughout all of our residential programs”.
The provincial government provided $355,000, the federal government $207,000 and the City of Saskatoon kicked in $19,000 to the project.
