Prince Albert police are trying to track down the person who’d been holding the gun when a man was shot in the leg at a house party early Saturday morning.
So far, investigators say the shooting wasn’t random – it happened during a fight in a residential area near the city’s Art Hauser Centre.
At a media conference on Monday, Prince Albert Sgt. Brandon Mudry assures the public there’s nothing to worry about.
“We’ve talked to numerous people that were part of this incident. We’re confident in public safety and we’ve identified a suspect,” he said.
The victim – a 26-year-old man – wasn’t seriously injured, and was taken to hospital soon after. He didn’t live at the home where the party was being held.
Police say the suspect’s name will be released once an arrest is made.
