After three years of operation, the Good Food Junction grocery store in Saskatoon’s inner city has closed its doors.

The board of directors of cites low sales and a challenging market as the reasons for the closure.

Vice Chair Audra Krueger says the co-operative was not able to meet customer demands in respect to offerings and prices.

“The board didn’t lose any money. Good Food Junction wasn’t generating a profit,” said Krueger. “When things play out we haven’t entered into a lot of risk. We’ll be able to pay all our creditors and stuff.”

Krueger said a liquidation sale will get underway on Friday and the money will be used to pay off debts. She added a full financial report will be available at the next members meeting in late February early March.
