A search will be conducted this weekend along the South Saskatchewan River and Meewasin Trail in Saskatoon for a missing 22-year-old man.
Justin Cory Kishayinew has not been seen since he left his home in the city in the early morning of February 10.
Family say his last known public communication was a Facebook profile picture updated at 7:30 a.m. that day.
Search coordinator Glenda Abbott says the search is going to be concentrated around the Meewasin Trail because Kishayinew often went there.
“Justin moved to the city a year ago and he didn’t really have that many friends or family in the city,” she says. “It was one of the areas that he spent a lot of time, he was really familiar with.”
Organizers say search hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. A command centre will be established at the Third Avenue United Church at 304 3rd Avenue North. Volunteers are asked to use the basement entrance.
The family is also requesting donations such as food, water, financial aid, reflective vests, or gift cards such as gas cards.
Anyone with any information on Kishayinew’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or the family.
