Prince Albert police are releasing more information about the daring escape of an accused killer.
Braidy Chase Vermette, 29, was being taken to hospital for treatment of an injury to his arm after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday. When the corrections officers arrived at the hospital with Vermette, they were ambushed by two men; one armed with a gun, the other with bear mace.
The masked men sprayed officers in the face, which allowed Vermette to make his getaway with the two men. They drove off in a dark coloured SUV.
Police say Vermette is considered armed and dangerous.
He is facing charges of first-degree murder in the death of Troy Napope, who has been missing since last June.
