Camping in Saskatchewan’s provincial parks are one of the hottest tickets in town, as campground reservations are being snapped up in record numbers this year.

In the province’s north – including Lac La Ronge, Chitek Lake and Makwa Lake – there were 1,358 people on the government’s website to book a spot on Tuesday. That is up about 140 from last year.

Reservations were down for Lac La Ronge, but a government official says that is because the Nemeiben and Wadin Bay campgrounds are not available for reservations because of construction projects or last year’s forest fires.
