A man charged with second-degree murder in a Red Earth death has wrapped up preliminary hearings and will move to pre-trial at Melfort Queen’s Bench.
Ernest McKay, 21, and a 17-year-old boy are charged with second-degree murder and robbery in the death of Dion Head.
At the time, Dion’s aunt Charlene Head said the victim and the two accused are related. She said the crimes are in connection to the rampant issues of drugs and alcohol in the community. Red Earth has since taken actions to declare it a dry reserve.
The teen’s case is still in the preliminary phase.
