La Ronge RCMP say the body of a man missing since December has been located.

Police say searchers from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band located the remains of Billy Taylor around 11:30 yesterday morning.

Investigators say his body was found in the area where he was originally thought to have gone through the ice.

The 36-year-old left Fox Point on December 17th, headed to La Ronge by snowmobile.

He never arrived and the family filed a missing person’s report the next day.

The search efforts included aircraft, specially trained dogs and calling in Submerged Recovery and Inspection Services from Arlington, Washington for help.

Police also asked people visiting cabins, trap lines, or out on the lake to be on the lookout for any items or indication of activity that may help.

The family of Billy Taylor would like to thank all those involved in the search over the past several months.
