A Saskatchewan organization devoted to helping the province’s troubled youth is celebrating 50 years of operation.
The Ranch Ehrlo Society originally opened in 1966 and has spent the past 50 years helping the province’s most vulnerable.
The organization was founded by Dr. Geoffrey Pawson and has grown from a single unit for 6 boys to a multi-faceted organization that has three campuses across the province.
The Ranch Ehrlo Society’s Vice-President of Administration Carole Bryant says there has been a lot to celebrate over the past 50 years.
“We are celebrating the changes we have made in so many people’s lives throughout the province in working with young people for over 5 decades,” said Bryant.
Throughout the next couple weeks the organization will be highlighting several of their success stories on their website.
Among them is Chad who says his musical talent was fostered while receiving care and treatment at Ranch Ehrlo.
“At the end of the day, these people are changing and saving lives,” said Chad.
The anniversary celebrations will kick into high gear later this summer with a powwow in August and a anniversary gala in September.
“It is all just a way to celebrate the ranch’s 50th anniversary with the kids, their families and everybody in the community we work with,” said Bryant.
