Northern Saskatchewan flights are getting a makeover.

This comes after WestWind Aviation sealed the deal to make TransWest Air a subsidiary company.

The two companies had been discussing a friendly takeover since May.

Now, the two will be pooling their flights to provide the best possible service, according to a news release from TransWest.

When passengers book their tickets they’ll be valid on both airlines. This means a ticket bought through each company could land a passenger on either TransWest or WestWind.

A new schedule has also been debuted this week.

More changes are on the way, and the companies say they’ll keep the public in the loop as they come.

WestWind is 80 per cent First Nations-owned, by Athabasca Basin Development and Prince Albert Development Corporation.
