A man from Cote First Nation has made his first court appearance related to the Aug. 13 death of a woman who was found dead in a home on the reserve.
Morgan Cote, 34, is charged with second-degree murder of the 20-year-old woman. She was pronounced deceased after Kamsack RCMP and Kamsack paramedics were called to a report of an unresponsive woman at 6:45 a.m. on Aug. 13.
Kamsack RCMP and RCMP Major Crimes South were involved in the investigation. An autopsy was performed on Aug. 15 at Pasqua Hospital in Regina.
Cote has been remanded in custody until his next appearance at Kamsack Provincial Court on Tuesday.
The victim’s name has not been made public by the RCMP.
