An emotional and tearful plea to bring her daughter back home was not enough, now a Yorkton mother is offering money to help find her missing girl.
Mekayla Bali, 17, has been missing since April 12.
Hundreds of people have been interviewed and dozens of leads have been followed up, but there has been no trace of her.
In July, RCMP was joined by Bali’s family members at a news conference at RCMP headquarters where the family begged for answers.
The family will be back this afternoon, this time providing information about a reward that has been raised through donations.
On the last day she was seen, Bali’s mother drove her to school in Yorkton but she never attended classes. Instead she went to a pawn shop and later to the bus terminal where she grabbed something to eat. A website chronicles what’s known from that day.
She was also seen in the company of a man believed to be in his 40s. RCMP say he is not a suspect in her disappearance. They also say Mekayla did not get on a bus.
More information on the investigation will be announced this afternoon.
