Sleigh bells are sure to be ringing in northern Saskatchewan today, as Santa Claus starts his first day of Transwest Air’s annual Santa Run.
Santa Claus will be in Fond du Lac this morning, then Black Lake and Stony Rapids in the afternoon.
Not only will kids get to tell Santa what they want for Christmas when he visits each community’s school, but there are also some gifts on board for kids in Grade 5 and below.
MBC’s Travis Waldner is volunteering to help Santa out this year. Before they took flight, Waldner said he was excited to see the kid’s faces light up.
“I love seeing how the adults react to it too, that’s kind of a big part of it for me, how they can relive the moment of their childhood through their children,” he said.
Santa has already made a special delivery to Uranium City this year.
The gifts for kids were made possible through a number of community sponsors.
The Santa Run concludes on Saturday in Wollaston Lake.
