Mounties say a Muskoday teen assaulted an officer during a traffic stop on New Years Day.
Justin Glen Bear, 18, was arrested along with a 17-year-old girl around 11 p.m. on Sunday. There are indications that the arrest did not come easy, with Bear now facing charges of resisting arrest and assault of a peace officer. However, nobody was seriously injured, said Sgt. Lyle Korczak with Prince Albert RCMP.
According to Mounties, only Bear faces charges stemming from this incident at this time. Korczak says charges may be pending for the girl.
A homemade Taser, machete, and 46 grams of cocaine were among the items seized from the vehicle.
Now, Bear faces a long list of drug and weapons-related charges. He previously had been charged with assault and failure to comply with an undertaking.
Bear made his first court appearance Tuesday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court and has been remanded for a video court appearance on Wednesday.
