La Ronge Regional fire crews are reporting a two-vehicle collision 30 kilometres south of La Ronge.
The 9 a.m. Tuesday crash required fire personnel to help safely remove two people from the vehicles.
A number of people were injured and taken by ambulance to hospital. The cause of the crash has not been released.
The collision came on a Saskatchewan day that was hard hit by blizzard conditions.
The RCMP reported a traffic fatality in one of the most-affected areas, about 15 kilometres east of Esterhazy near the community of Gerald.
Esterhazy Mounties report around 8:50 a.m., a tow truck driver was involved in a four-vehicle collision near the potash mine.
The man driving the tow truck was pronounced dead on the scene, while another man was taken to hospital.
Highway 22 was blocked all afternoon.
The man’s name will not be released, and his family has been notified. The cause of the collision is being investigated.
Late Tuesday afternoon, the RCMP was reporting a multi-vehicle collision Highway 1 about 30 kilometres west of Regina near Pense. Details were limited, but the highway was closed soon after the collision.
