A Mistawasis man accused of second-degree murder is scheduled to head to a preliminary hearing in November.

Danny Ledoux was 30 when he was arrested in early March following the death of Cindy Joseph. She was found unresponsive at a home on Mistawasis on March 3 around 4:40 a.m. She was taken to Shellbrook hospital and pronounced dead.

Joseph was 28, and from Ahthakakoop Cree Nation. At the time, the RCMP said the two were known to each other.

Ledoux has been in custody for more than five months.

The late November hearing will determine whether there is enough evidence to go to trial. Court workers say there is no record of whether Ledoux wants to be tried by judge alone or judge and jury if the case goes to trial.
