La Ronge RCMP are providing more details about an attempted child-luring in the community earlier this week.
RCMP say a man allegedly approached a 10 year-old child on Wednesday afternoon at around 4:00. The man attempted to lure the child into his vehicle using threats before the child ran away.
Mounties say the man was reportedly driving an older model, light blue, Ford halt-ton truck with rust around the wheels and possibly a broken passenger side window with tape and plastic over it. The truck had an Alberta license plate.
The man is described as an Aboriginal in his 30s with a short buzz cut. At the time he was wearing a black muscle shirt, black shorts, sunglasses on his head and running shoes. He is described as having a number of tattoos including a tear-drop on his left eye and a skull on his left arm.
RCMP say they are actively investigating the incident and have increased patrols at key times when children may be active in the community.
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call the La Ronge RCMP detachment immediately.
As the investigation is ongoing police are encourage parents to speak with the children about safety precautions with strangers.
