UPDATE – RCMP say Stanley Custer was found dead on the south shore of Cross Lake by community searchers at about 2:30 pm Friday afternoon. His death is not considered suspicious. Initial indications are that he died of exposure. RCMP send condolences to the family and wish to thank the community for the “overwhelming response” to the search effort.
Cumberland House RCMP are looking to the public for information on a missing 20-year-old man.
Police say Stanley Custer was last seen Wednesday afternoon in a paddle boat on Cross River near Bud’s Point, which is almost nine kilometres east of Cumberland House.
His paddle boat has since been located on the south shore of Cross Lake, but Custer has not been found.
CASARA conducted an aerial search yesterday, and will continue today, weather permitting.
