RCMP from Big River, La Ronge and Sandy Bay Detachments, Prince Albert Traffic Services and officers from the Ministry of Environment have completed two days of enforcement on roads in the La Ronge area.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, officers were targeting alcohol and traffic-related offences.
Police say three vehicles were seized, six warnings were issued and 11 charges were laid under the Traffic Safety Act. Three charges for bootlegging and three charges for open liquor were also laid.
Investigators say a significant amount of alcohol, with an estimated value of $3,550 was seized.
The RCMP will be conducting similar initiatives in various northern communities throughout the year. The goal is to disrupt the supply of alcohol intended for bootlegging.
