UPDATE: A 14-year-old boy from Meadow Lake has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and uttering threats against a person in relation to this incident.
RCMP responded to a complaint this morning of a young male wielding a knife and uttering threats toward Gateway Elementary School in Meadow Lake.
Officers located the suspect and were able to arrest him without incident around 11:30 a.m.
No students or staff were injured, but all the schools in Meadow Lake initiated hold and secure procedures that have since been lifted.
No other details have been released, but police say the investigation continues.
