Police in the province are on the lookout for a 31-year-old man who failed to return to the Prince Albert Correctional Centre after a temporary absence.

Jonathan Wade Benson left PACC last Friday and was scheduled to return the next day at 6:00 p.m.

According to officials, Benson failed to return and police have been searching for him since.

Benson is described as 6’1” tall, 161 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a cross tattoo on his right arm and has three cigarette burn scars on his left hand.

Benson was serving a six-month sentence for common assault and breach of probation. Police say he is not considered a threat to public safety.

Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to call their nearest police service or RCMP detachment.
