Wanuskewin and SIGA have been nominated for the Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence for 2017.

SIGA’s Gold Eagle Casino is nominated for the Service Excellence Award and the organization itself has been nominated for Tourism Employer of the Year and Business of the Year Award (Over 20 Full-Time Employees.)  Meanwhile, Wanuskewin is competing for the Tourism Employee of the Year Award and the Gil Carduner Marketing Award. The employee competing for the annual award is Chris Standing.

“It means so much to us to be able to be recognized by an industry in which we are so heavily involved,” says Wanuskewin’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Andrew McDonald. “I believe Wanuskewin plays a really key role for all visitors that come to our province in that we are the tellers of the story of the people of the plains, of the northern plains. For us to be recognized in this way is a great honour, it means so much to us.”

The Fred Heal Tourism Ambassador Award is also being sponsored by Wanuskewin.

The winners in the 12 award categories will be announced on April 12 at the 29th annual Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala in Regina.
