The First Nations Cup Provincial Ball Hockey Championship comes to Prince Albert this weekend.
Officials are expecting 20 teams this year from Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Organizer Sheldon Cook says the competition level will be stiff.
“There’s usually about five good teams that battle it out for the top three prizes,” said Cook. “The rest is pretty equal.”
La Ronge won the event last year, while Southend has claimed first three times. This is the sixth year the event has been running.
The team that captures first will take home $4,000.
All of the action this weekend takes place at the Dave G. Steuart Arena. The finals are scheduled for Sunday.
