Unemployment statistics for Saskatchewan’s Aboriginal population for June shows less First Nations people are working, while more Métis are on job sites.
Data released by the Saskatchewan Bureau of Statistics indicates the First Nations unemployment rate is 20.6 percent, a rise of point-eight percent from May, due partially to a shrink in the labour force and the number employed.
For Métis, a decrease in the unemployment rate of point-six percent to 12 percent is attributed to higher labour force and increased employment.
The unemployment rate for the Aboriginal population in northern Saskatchewan is 20 percent.
