The La Ronge Churchill Chargers high school football team is now 0-4 on the season following a 37-19 loss on Friday to Humboldt in La Ronge.
“Have to tip my hat to the Grade 12’s last home game of their careers, they were playing both ways — special teams and just giving it everything they had,” said Chargers Head Coach Gabe Andrews. “Proud of their efforts, of course you want to win the game, but you can’t win them all. It think this was our best battle thus far, we didn’t hang our heads when we were down early, we kept fighting back.”
Humboldt improved its record to 3-0 with the victory.
“We’ve got such a dedicated group of Grade 12’s that have come through from Grade 9 all the way to 12 now, that hard work has definitely paid off,” said Andrews.
La Ronge is back in action on Friday when they travel to Nipawin. Friday’s game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
