The La Ronge Ice Wolves wrapped up training camp on Sunday at the Mel Hegland Uniplex with the annual intrasquad game.
In the end, Team Teal defeated Team Black 3-2 in a shootout. Swift Current’s Cash Arntsen, the Ice Wolves first overall pick in the 2018 SJHL Bantam Draft, scored the winner.
“It was pretty fast (camp) compared to what I’m used to, so it was a good pace,” said Arntsen.
Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Evan Vossen was pleased with what he saw at training camp this year.
“I thought we had a real competitive camp,” said Vossen. “Obviously, a lot of good kids here. With the numbers — we were happy with and also the quality as well.”
Vossen also said the local talent at camp was impressive.
Meantime, the Ice Wolves will now turn their attention to the pre-season, which begins on Tuesday at the Mel Hegland Uniplex when the Flin Flon Bombers come to town.
