Saskatchewan RCMP have made an arrest in an investigation involving an Amber Alert last weekend.
The Amber Alert was sparked after a vehicle with a six-year-old girl in the back was stolen in North Battleford on Sunday.
Nineteen-year-old Johnathan Ryann Gunville of North Battleford faces a number of charges including abduction of a person under 14, abandoning a child and theft of a motor vehicle.
Gunville has also been charged with two separate vehicle thefts that occurred on Wednesday and Thursday.
He is due to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday.
Police say they reviewed hundreds of hours of surveillance footage from over 200 businesses to establish the stolen SUV’s path and make the arrest.
On Sept. 16, an SUV was stolen from outside a strip mall in North Battleford.
The vehicle had a six-year-old girl in a child seat in the back.
She suffers from autism and epilepsy and needs to take medication every 12 hours, which increased the urgency of the search.
The SUV was recovered in the early morning hours of Sept. 17 with the child safely in the back.
