A coroner’s inquest will be held in September into a drowning in Stony Rapids, which happened over two years ago.
In Feb. 2017, 31-year-old Ryan Donard, was being pursued on foot by members of the Stony Rapids RCMP detachment.
They had been investigating a complaint from a home in the community.
Police say he disappeared after entering the Fond du Lac River.
The Prince Albert Police Service was brought in to conduct an independent, external investigation.
The coroner’s inquest is scheduled to run Sept. 9-13 in Black Lake.
The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is responsible for the investigation of all sudden, unexpected and unnatural deaths.
