La Ronge will be the site of a football officiating clinic next week.
“We’re always in need of officials as well in northern football from all of our communities,” said Mark Williment, who is with the Northern Saskatchewan Football League.
“We are asking for a couple of volunteers from each community. If you are interested to come out with the team – take the level one and two workshop and be officials for northern Saskatchewan football.”
If you are interested in becoming an official, Williment says there is no age requirement.
“There are times even where we’ve even trained high school students who have an interest in football,” said Williment. “Even if you don’t know the game that well, that’s not a problem. Everybody learns from wherever they are at. We’ll provide a lot of support for officials on the field as well.”
The officiating clinic is part of the Saskatchewan Roughriders Northern Football Jamboree May 10-11 at Churchill Community High School in La Ronge.
