The La Ronge Ice Wolves are getting set to host a summer hockey training camp next month.
The camp runs from July 22-25 at the JRMCC. Kids from the ages of 5-17 can take part. The camp will not contain an on-ice component.
“We are going to work on puck-handling skills, shooting skills to create better posture – a better technique for the players,” said Ice Wolves Associate Coach Gaelan Patterson. “We’re going to do dryland training, so there will be workouts in the gymnasium, there will be CrossFit training outside and we are going to surround that all with fun and games.”
La Ronge Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminski hopes the participants learn a lot.
“We want these kids to respect their teammates, respect the game, respect the rink and learn to have fun, but with a great work ethic,” said Kaminski. “We want these kids to leave with a smile on their face, along with getting better in all aspects of the game.”
For more information on the camp, you can check out the team’s website or social media channels.
The cost to take part in the camp is $125 per player.
