A 22-year-old La Loche man is facing a number of charges after a vicious knife assault early Saturday morning left a male victim with part of his ear severed off.
RCMP say they received a report of a break and enter at a local residence around 6 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found an adult male who had been stabbed multiple times in the face and upper torso.
He was airlifted to Saskatoon for treatment.
Austin Lee Herman is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000-dollars.
He made his first court appearance Monday morning.
