The La Ronge Ice Wolves finished off their selections at the 2019 SJHL Bantam Draft when they took Regina goalie Noah Sharp 61st overall in the sixth round.
“I was really hoping that it (getting drafted) would happen, that I could get picked and go out to camps and show them what I could do,” said Sharp.
Sharp posted a 3.03 GAA and .887 save percentage this past season with the Regina Aces Bantam AA squad.
The Regina product says he’s a quick goalie who enjoys playing the puck. He admits, one of his favourite puckstoppers to watch is Mike Smith of the Edmonton Oilers.
“I think he (Mike Smith) is a great goalie, he’s always set and ready,” said Sharp. “He likes to play the puck a lot, he’s quite good at it. I like to watch him and try and be a little bit like him.”
Sharp says he plans to try out for the Regina Pat Canadians of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League in the fall.
Sharp appeared in one game for the Pat Canadians this past season.
