Former La Ronge Ice Wolves broadcaster Daniel Fink continues to climb the broadcasting ranks in the hockey world.
Fink now serves as the broadcaster for the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League.
“This off-season, our broadcaster moved on and there was an opening,” said Fink. “Rather than opening it up for anybody to jump in there, they came to me, and asked if I’d be willing to step in and take on the broadcasting role. I leapt at the opportunity.”
Fink is the manager of hockey communications and the broadcaster for the Manitoba Moose. He previously worked full-time for the team in a communications role, but he had the chance to broadcast several games last season for the club.
“I kind of had this list in my head of people that I would call if our broadcaster ever moved on, but then I did those eight games last year and started to think, why wouldn’t I do it?” said Fink. “Called my own number I guess for that. It just kind of worked out that way and I’m outrageously lucky. It’s definitely a case of being in the right place at the right time and things working out.”
Fink served as the broadcaster for the La Ronge Ice Wolves on MBC Network Radio from 2010-2012. Following his time with the Ice Wolves, Fink worked for the Regina Pats in the WHL before heading to Winnipeg to join the Moose.
Fink attended broadcasting school at SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary, AB with current La Ronge Ice Wolves broadcaster Braden Malsbury.
