A 26-year-old man from the Sweetgrass First Nation faces a number of charges after a vehicle and foot chase with police last Friday.
RCMP began pursuing a speeding vehicle on Hwy 16, near Maidstone, and the driver was forced to stop around Cut Knife after hitting spike belts.
A foot pursuit ensued and a male suspect was arrested on the roof of a local residence.
A search of the vehicle uncovered three prohibited firearms, ammunition and a small amount of cocaine.
Nakota Pooyak has been charged with flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
He made his first appearance in St. Walburg court yesterday.
