Kevin Fillier, who spent the past two seasons with the La Ronge Ice Wolves, has committed to Simon Fraser University (BCIHL) for the 2020-21 campaign.
In 48 regular season games during the 2019-20 season, the Smithers, B.C. defenceman had 23 points and 89 penalty minutes. In four playoff games with La Ronge in 2020, Fillier tallied one goal.
Prior to joining the La Ronge Ice Wolves in 2018, Fillier played two seasons with the 100 Mile House Wranglers in the KIJHL.
Fillier is the fifth player from the 2019-20 edition of the Ice Wolves to commit to a post-secondary institution for the upcoming hockey season.
Meantime, the Ice Wolves are slated to opening training camp on Friday at the Mel Hegland Uniplex and the JRMCC.
