MBC Network Radio and the La Ronge Ice Wolves have inked a new radio agreement that will see both home and away games air on MBC for the 2020-21 SJHL season.

“It has been a pleasure to work with the Ice Wolves in the past and now,” said Deborah Charles, the CEO of MBC Network Radio. “I will continue to support the SJHL. All the best in this year’s hockey season. Go Ice Wolves Go!”

Braden Malsbury will be back behind the mic for his eighth season in La Ronge. Malsbury feels it’s especially important this year to broadcast every game.

“With rink capacity reduced around the league due to COVID-19, allowing the fans to stay connected to the action at home and on the road is imperative,” said Malsbury. “I look forward to calling games again and I can’t wait to get back into the booth this weekend.”

Every regular season game and playoff contest will be available on MBC, pending any programming conflicts.

“The La Ronge Ice Wolves are very excited to enter the new agreement with MBC,” said Grant Merriman, president of the Ice Wolves. “We want our fans to be able to hear the games live, even if they can’t attend in person.”

The first broadcast of the season is scheduled for Friday night when the La Ronge Ice Wolves kick off the campaign at home against the Nipawin Hawks.

Each broadcast on MBC will start 10 minutes before puck drop.
