An emergency shelter in Prince Albert is one of the organizations that will receive part of $171,000 in new targeted COVID-19 funding from the province.
The money is intended to help these shelters continue to keep their clients and staff safe during the pandemic.
Along with the YWCA Cold Weather Shelter in Prince Albert, the Lloydminster Men’s Shelter and Lighthouse Supported Living in Saskatoon and North Battleford are also receiving funding.
The rest of the money will be distributed among four other shelters in Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw.
Previous pandemic supports for shelters were announced by the provincial government in April.
The ministry of social services provides approximately $4 million to emergency shelters annually.
