The Northern Inter Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) reported 554 active cases of COVID-19 in their communities Thursday.

The region with the highest number of cases was the far northeast, northeast which currently has 254 active cases. The far northwest has the second highest number of cases with 118. The northeast region is reporting 77 active COVID-19 cases while the north central region has 68.

Overall NITHA said eight people are in hospital and 1,189 recoveries are being reported.

The Athabasca Health Authority in the far north central part of the province is reporting 36 active COVID-19 cases. This is an increase of eight positive tests from the last report. The health authority also reported five recoveries.

The community of Black Lake currently has the highest number of active cases with 25. Fond-du-Lac has the second highest number with seven, however one of those cases is not currently in the community. Finally Stony Rapids is reporting four active cases.
