RCMP in Buffalo Narrows says it has recovered numerous religious artifacts allegedly stolen for a local church Sunday.
Officers were advised that the Church of St. Leo the Great was broken into overnight on Feb 14, and that a tabernacle, chalices, robes, crosses and other religious items were missing.
Some of the items were located later that day at the Catholic cemetery, with a suspect being found near the church.
A search of a Buffalo Narrows home Monday, turned up crosses, robes and other artifacts from the church.
49-year-old Dean Chartier is facing break and enter and theft charges and will appear in provincial court in April.
