The Northern Inter Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) said there were 211 active cases of COVID-19 in their communities Wednesday.
The far northeast region had the highest number of active cases with 79. The northeast region has the second highest number of cases with 59, followed by the far northwest, which reported 36. The north central region reported 10 active cases.
Five people were reported to be in hospital, while the number of recoveries sits at 2,634.
The Athabasca Health Authority in the province’s far north reported 39 active cases of COVID-19. The local health authority said since their last report they have had 11 more positive cases. One new recovery was also reported Wednesday.
Of Athabasca communities, Black Lake reported the most active cases with 29. Three people from the community are currently in hospital. Fond-du-Lac had 10 active cases with two people from the community in hospital.
