A group of current and former Métis leaders are taking issue with the current leadership of the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan (MN-S)
In a media release sent out Wednesday morning, an organization calling itself Métis Nationalist Movement Saskatchewan announced they plan to take what they called an action against current MN-S leadership for violating the organization’s constitution. In the release, the group said the constitution lays out that all Métis people who meet eligibility criteria have the right to vote.
The release said the Métis Nationalist Movement is made up of a range of current and former Métis leaders.
The organization is planning to hold an event Thursday morning in Saskatoon, across from Court of Queen’s Bench on Spadina Avenue, where Clément Chartier, who will be speaking as a member of the MN-S local from Buffalo Narrows, is set to address media.
